Ireland: Land of Emerald Green

A photoshoot of traditional Irish clothing

Low stone walls, old taverns with fiddle music and chilled pints, a lilting tune as the heartbeat of the land. A language more than 25 centuries old and an intricate art form recognized around the globe.

Ireland has played a major part in my life since I started dancing at the age of six - when jigs, reels and hornpipes became a part of my daily life. But the roots of this culture go deeper than a few tunes and a few taps...

There are so many aspects of this old culture to explore: History, customs, language, cuisine, art, and so much more, and I'll be doing so throughout the month of April. Swing by my website's blog to read about my discoveries as I make them!

For this photoshoot I sewed a long skirt out of dark green cotton and paired it with a white blouse; then I went out into the Spring sunlight with my brother, Dominic Lupas, to act as my photographer. Modeling, makeup, styling and post-production are, as always, by me (Sophie Lupas).
